Depression for some is a once in a while emotion, brought on by changing hormones, chemical imbalances, tragedy, loss, and other things in life while for others its chronic and debilitating. Learn skills and techniques to lessen the effects of depression for the once in a while or for the challenging times to live a more fulfilling and happier life. Turn your thoughts around, focus on happiness and thankfulness rather than the depression itself.
Mainly the challenge with Anxiety is the emotional causes and effects. In this workshop we will work through awareness that when anxiety rises or you feel a panic attack coming on who to use your body and mind to reduce or stop the attacks.
Exercises & Sequences
Exercise is one of the best ways to alleviate the symptoms of depression, though for some it’s a challenge to even move or go out for the day. Learn simple to more advanced exercise sequence. Personalize each exercise for your own abilities and moods.
Deep Breathing
Shallow breathing or breathing only into your stomach is known to heighten depression by depraving parts of your brain of oxygen. Learn to develop breathing techniques to counter your moods and develop a coping mechanism through the breath until your breathing becomes second nature and a sense of control is established.
Learn how what to do when you hyper ventilate and how breathing deep keeps the mind from going to fear mode.
Calming & Relaxing
Through active meditation the thoughts associated with depression for a minute to 20 minutes is well known to help your moods turn to happiness. When our minds are thinking downwards thought, of why, oh goodness, or even just ‘blah’ thoughts we can go in circles pondering the same thought(s) the body reacts, the breathing may get shallow and the depression continues.
We will learn how to meditate and which meditation is best to help you move your mind in a happier pattern, help clear your thoughts, and help you control how you think. Several types of meditation will be offered for you to feel which is best at one time; a combination may work best also.
Breathing, Yoga Exercises and Meditation is known to bring happiness to our bodies, minds; over time is found to lessen depression and give you the tools to recognize the beginning symptoms and work with your happiness, without focusing on the depression. Otherwise focusing on ‘oh you have depression’ is like picking at fabric, eventually there is a hole.
